Dave Friedman

About Dave Friedman

I don't want to be pigeon holed to one specific genre as my style is an amalgamation of all my musical experiences. My earliest influences were hearing my fathers Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett, Glen Cambell etc, records. I was later heavily influenced and driven to play guitar by the classic rock guitarists and bands of the 60's, 70's, and 80's, most notably, Jimmy Page, and Jimi Hendrix. I was also influenced by Canadian bands Rush, Max Webster, and Saga. Later I learned from the styles and techniques of artists Joe Pass, Allan Holdsworth, Steve Morse, Al Di Meola, Chick Corea, Eliot Fisk, Lenny Breau, Ed Bickert, Lorne Lofsky, Reg Schwager and numerous other artists. I have an appreciation for and love listening to great songwiting from the likes of Steely Dan, Chick Corea, Supertramp, UZEB, Dixie Dregs, Steve Morse, Allan Holdsworth, Bill Bruford, Pink Floyd.......and last but certainly not least the genius of J.S. Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Paganini....
